Harry Potter and The Order of The Phoenix By J.K Rowling

In this Harry has to face Dolores Umbridge, Extra lessons with Snape, and a really creepy prophecy. I like this series because the author always mixes a little bit of humor in with the adventure.

  1. I have to admit, I've never read any of the Harry Potter books, but I have seen a few of the movies.

I'd love to hear more about your reaction to the text. Does the story make you anticipate what will come next? Do you get wrapped up in the story? And if so why? Does the language allow you to vividly picture the story? Think about why you're reading and (hopefully) enjoying the book, and talk about that.

If you've read the book and seen the movie, that could make for some interesting analysis where you can compare the two and talk about aspects you liked better, or something in the movie that disappointed you.

And if you're already familiar with the story you could talk about whether knowing what will happen affects your enjoyment.

I look forward to hearing more!
