THE FOREVER KING by Molly Cochran and Warren Murphy definitely gives off a suspenseful air to it, making you want to read more. I have read this once before, and I read it in one sitting.I loved how the writing flowed together perfectly, in such great detail that the images just flew into my mind. It surprised me how they wrote it, how they would make you think one thing would happen but then the exact opposite would instead.It is my all time favorite book. This is what the cover gives as a description; In a darkened house not far from the place where Camelot may once have stood, a man schemes. Once the cup that men call the holey grail was his. Soon it will be his again. The grail's protectors are few and weak:an alcohol soaked ex-FBI agent; a courtly old gentleman who one, long ago, held awesome power, and a ten year old boy.      But Lusitania also harbors the descolada, a virus that kills all humans it infects, but which the pequininos require in order to transform into adults.  The Starways Congress so fears the effect of the descolada, should it escape from Lusitania, that they have ordered the destruction of the entire planet, and all who live there.  The fleet is on it's way, and a second Xenocide seems inevitable.
     Until the fleet vanishes.
     The task of discovering how the ships were made to disappear falls to Gloriously Bright, the most brilliant analytical mind in a world of people bred to superintelligence.  There is little doubt that she can solve the puzzle; but will she choose life or death for the three races that live on Lusitania?

Hush, Hush fans?

Has anybody read the Hush, Hush books by Becca Fitzpatrick?  I first found out about them when I saw a publicity poster for the first book at the school here in Turkey; they must be pretty popular if they're being translated into Turkish.  I don't know much about them, beyond Amazon blurbs, but they look similar to the Twilight series, at least in that they're about love and non-human beings.  Any takers?

Re-Reading. Should books be re-read?

I just started reading these books because everyone is raving about them. Sadly I don't have them with me today so I can't give the plot synopsis.

Dragon Art

Dragon Art, how to Draw Fantastic Dragons and Fantasy Creatures by J "NeonDragon" Peffer is a drawing book that teaches you how to draw dragons mostly, and a few other magical creatures. As the back of the book says: How to Draw a Dragon: "Cautiously approach the dragon, offer it a piece of candy or a little sister, and draw while it happily munches away." I like this book because it has allot of great artistic ideas.

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

Bilbo Baggins was a hobbit who wanted to be left alone in quiet comfort. But the wizard Gandalf came along with a band of homeless dwarves. Soon Bilbo was drawn into their quest,  facing evil orcs, savage wolves, giant spiders, and worse unknown dangers. Finally, it was Biblo- alone and unaided- who had to confront the great dragon Smaug, the terror of an entire countryside!

Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary By: Josefa Heifetz Byrne

This fascinating work is a dictionary of  unusual, obscure, and preposterous words.  It contains thousands of the weirdest words in the English language, but the definition of each each word has been written clearly and directly.  And, incredible as it may seem, every entry in this book, even the most ludicrous, has been accepted as a formal or legitimate English word by at least one major dictionary.

Although Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary has enough humor in it to reward casual browsers, it is intended to serve as a supplement to a desk dictionary.  Such words as heredipety (legacy hunting), nikin (a very soft creature), noctuary (a diary of nighttime activities), pantophobia (fear of everything, cowardice), and saginate (to fatten, pamper) may soon be given general conversational currency.


Mrs. Byrne's Dictionary is the most helpful reference for students, writers, or anyone unable to locate just the right expressive word in a standard dictionary.

Catching fire by Suzanne Collins, book two in the Hunger Games

The zombie survival guide

Right now I am in a section about sending scouts out of you're base to see if all the zombies have been demolished. It gives three scenarios in which could happen; 1: the zombies are still roaming the Earth and almost all people have been whipped out 2: only a few zombies every hundred miles and 3: no zombies and humans are regaining control. In all cases it tells you what you should do: Stay in hiding untill you are PSOITVE they are ALL dead.

VT Drivers Manual

I was wondering if I could start a blog on the Vt Drivers Handbook. This especially apply to people that are getting ready to take their permit test. My thought was everyone can post on here things they are having trouble remembering or things that are unclear to them. Of course it will only work right if people actually participate and read the book.

Ben in fact is the Prince of Eidolon. The author does an excellent job of combining humor, adventure and mystery.

This is by far the most enjoyable and informative visual guide i have ever read. Apart from the atlas section of it, it has so much information. One of my favorites was the the nations and the crucial information about every one for example the government, flag, population, agriculture, industry, and life expectancy. It also has the language of each nation along with some foreign terms and definitions. It has a whole section about space and planets for example distance from the sun, inner temp, outer temp, size, and orbit. And it has an entire metric conversions table with everything from weight to length.

This book has hilarious stories about Vermont fish and game wardens. including stories like raccoon riot, bear where, too loose moose, and many more funny stories. as soon as i started reading it i could not stop. Each story funnier than the next. i think that anyone who is in to hunting and being out in the woods will love this book.

Welfare Brat by Mary Childers

I am about half way through this book and it is keeping me very interested. It drags a bit but no matter how boring the story can get it continues keep me wondering whats going to be the next event in their life. The thing I love about this book is that it's very real in an average persons life. It's not over exaggerated or unreal. I also love that it's not just in one point of view. They tell about how everyone in the family sees each other.

Thomas wakes up in a moving structure his memory completely wiped. All he can remember is his own name but nothing of his past life. He reaches a stop and two sliding doors above him reveal to him about fifty boys, all in there late teens looking down at him and laughing.

Getting out of this box like thing was terrible, he felt sick and lifeless. Looking around he saw that he was in a vast courtyard with walls hundreds of feat tall, four openings one on each side led out into misty and dark pathways. Why was he here, what was happening to him.

Sorry its such a mystery that's where i am in the book.

I think this book is very good so far, i'm not sure how this book will turn out but it is very sad. The preface and first chapter really draw me in because its sad and explains how she feels and how her life is as a young girl. The beginning really makes you want tor read more.

Inheritance by Christopher Paolini

When it all started Eragon was only a small boy living in a ram-shack that no one outside of ten miles away had ever heard of, that is until Eragon became a dragon rider and Roran a commander in the Vardens army. It all started with Eragon(the book) now it ends with Inheritance.

I love this series and I'm kind of sad that its ending I hope that the author makes a shoot-off series about what happens after Inheritance.

The Zombie survival guide by Max Brooks right now is talking about "on the run" which is when your not in a shelter of any kind and trying to get to a set destination or desired area. It gives a list of ideals that is necessary for the journey, and it is required to have a set destination in mind or else you wont have a goal to work twords and just running away instead of having an ideal place is practically suicidal.
This is a great book for many ages, (although allot of things in this book might make younger children paranoid). So if you want a good time and a sci-fi typ book, read the Zombie survival guide by Max Brooks!

Taekwon-Do

Words are inadequate to describe my feelings of jubilation on the day that Taekwon-Do was born, but at the same time I was assailed by doubts and apprehensions. I am only a chapter in, but this book is in intriguing. The way the author writes is lovely and descriptive. The text flows, it's detailed and juicy.

Anatomy of a War by Gabriel Kolko

I am now 3/4 the way through this book. I finally got to the chapters that talk about the vehicles and weapons used in the war. There are a few pages that give you the number of vehicals and weapons made for each side and there description. It make me sad that there are not any pictures in this part of the book but the description are down to the finest detail. Also there is a chapter on how much all the equipment cost for each country. This book also talks about the media at the time.

I am finished reading Star Wars Red Harvest. The book is very interesting, I recommend this book to any horror and science fiction readers. The way I like this book is because it has a lot of action and suspense.

This is the story of the artists, Cloth designers, Sonic whiz kids, and actors , like Hilton Howell Railey and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. Who won some of WWII's most decisive battles behind the scene's, such as D-Day, the invasion of Italy and the battle of El Alamien. This book tells the story of those who grew up worst of the worse, to the Best of the Best, known only as, Secret Soldiers.

This is truly one of the best books I've read and so far-even though I'm not far in the book-its very entertaining.

The Author of this book tells a very good description. It is a great book for people who love history.
