Something is happening to me that
I don't understand.
I see things, feel things in a new way.
I can do things normal people can't do.
Powerful things. Magickal things.
It scares me.
I never chose to learn witchcraft.
But I'm starting to wonder if witchcraft
is choosing me.
I LOVE this series. There are fifteen books, all very short. It is about this girl who's family is very strict about religion who suddenly meets a wiccan boy, and gets involves with wicca. Her family is against it, which pushes her towards it more. She's learning all these new things, and doing things she never thought possible. The entire series is very suspenseful and dramatic. I would only suggest this book series to high school students.
ReplyDeleteI've read all the books, and this is my second time reading the series and I love it just as much as I did the first time. I love to re-read a series because everytime I notice something new and take in more.
ReplyDeleteSo the girl wants to be witch? in your original post, it seemed like she didn't.
ReplyDeleteDoes it stay interesting with how many books there are? Is there a new conflict in each book or do they tie together?
ReplyDeleteIf I was to guess I'd say they tie together. Jocelyn said they are really short.
ReplyDeleteIn the beginning she didn't know what she wanted. She was confused, choosing between her family's religion and her boyfriends; and she feels power in her and it scares her, so she isn't sure. ---Also, each book does somewhat tie into eachother. It has the same people and place, but in a couple books the main character changes.
ReplyDeleteAre these books totally fantasy, or are there influences from real life. Like, is Wicca a real religion?
ReplyDeleteWhat religion is the girl's family? Would you say it sounds like (or clearly is) Christianity? I ask because it sounds like a pretty realistic modern-day conflict between a girl and her parents. What is the book's world? Is it fantasy or is it our world?
ReplyDeleteAnd why do you say this series is for high school students? Is it the language level or the subject matter or what?
