Against all odds Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow district 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all, she has returned to her family and her longtime friend, gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the capitol--A rebbelion that katniss and peeta may have helped create.
Much to her shock, she has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely sure she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and peeta to visit the districts on the capitols cruel victory tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.

How do you like this book so far? I though over all it was a good book but I thought it was really similar to the first.
ReplyDeleteI am still reading the first book. It is really good. Do you think that this book is better or worse than the Hunger Games? How would you compare them?
ReplyDeleteI never heard of this book before. Would this book compare to other books you read? Is this book in a series?
ReplyDeleteyes i agree with you Corina, what are the differences though?
ReplyDeleteI think that the Hunger Games is better but Catching fire is still a great book, but nothing can match the Hunger Games.
ReplyDeleteI think that these books compare very well to the harry potter series, not in the plot but in the stile of writing. It is in a series. You should definitely consider reading it.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could compare the differences without revealing to much about the Hunger Games ending.
ReplyDeleteI do not want to give away the plot of the book, Katniss is in a very tight situation that she does not expect
ReplyDeleteCatching Fire is actually turning out to be a little better than the hunger games, it is more suspenseful.
ReplyDeleteGordon,
ReplyDeleteWhats making it more suspenseful than the hunger games? Do you think they will make a movie on this one and how good would it be judging on the hunger games?
What makes this book more suspenseful than the Hunger Games? I am curious, what makes them so similar?
ReplyDeleteHow many books are there in this series? I would like to start reading them because I've only heard good reviews.
ReplyDeleteThree books as far as I know.
ReplyDeleteThere are three books in the series.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes it similar is that it is the same plot, and in a different way, and what makes it suspenseful is the fact that Katniss is on the edge of being caught and then she falls into another problem which is probably going to claim her life.

ReplyDeleteThis is definitely turning out to be batter than the hunger games, there is allot of new characters and strategies.
ReplyDeleteWhat keeps me reading is the fact that you do not know what is going to happen next, and what does happen next is better than the one before.
