Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn & David Levithan

“I’ve left some clues for you. If you want them, turn the page. If you don’t, put the book back on the shelf, please.”

So begins the latest whirlwind romance from the bestselling authors of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist. Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash and Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

  1. This is a good book. Just reading the quote on the back makes you want to read it. The authors both take a character and each chapter alternates characters point of view. So the book starts out from Dashes point of view where he finds the book hidden in his favorite used book store which is huge with books everywhere. That’s when he finds the first entry in the red notebook. A cool thing about the entries is that there not just writing back and forth there more giving each other clues. This leads them all around town leaving the notebook in different places. Eventually each of their friends and family's get involved. At first the clues are fun but after a while you just want them to meet in person. Even though you know there is still ¾ of the book left which makes it unlikely that they will meet or at least not for a while at that point. It is a pretty quick easy read. It is only about 260 pages.
