Dark Goddess by Sarwat Chadda

Still reeling from the death of her best friend, Kay, Billi is thrust into action when the Templars are called to investigate werewolf activity.  And these werewolves are like nothing Billi has ever seen.
They call themselves the Polenitsy-Man-Killers.  These ancient warrior women of Eastern Europe were supposedly wiped out centuries ago.  But now they've come out of hiding and are on the hunt for a Spring Child-an oracle powerful enough to start a Fimbulwinter that will wipe out humankind for good.
To reclaim the Spring Child and save the world, Billi needs to earn the trust of Ivan Romanov, a young Russian soldier who is suspicious of people in general, and of Billi in particular.
Folklore and myth become darkly real in this stunning adventure, a story of the world running out of time.  And of Billi SanGreal, the only one who can save it.

  1. This is a quote in the begining og the book that I personaly found interesting.
"I came upon a small child, the daughter of a local farmer. She was no more than four, with shining eyes and curling auburn hair.
I devoured her. Her flesh was most delicious."
This quote will make more sense once you read what the story is about.

    1. I swear that that book is cursed. Since I read that things about eating children started appearing more in life. So, read the book or what it's about? Because if you read what it's about then, to me, it implies that some character has their daughter eaten. Being only a few pages into the book, I can't really relate this to what I've read although the book is kind of gruesome.

    2. Yeah I know that it is gruesome but if you focus on just the children being eaten then it will ruin the way the book is set up

  2. I like the way the author writes because it's detailed and I also like the vocab that he uses. The words he has used I've all seen and most I know the definition for I just don't use them in my writing because I don't know how to properly use them.

  3. I'm going to take a break because it's too depressing for me. I don't want to give away an important part in the story so I will leave the details out. With the little girl, the volcano, and what the newscaster said put together felt like three trains, sadness, anger, and scare just crashed into each other and caused this huge explosion right next to the control center called Heart.
