The Complete Guide Manga by Jason Thompson

The Complete Guide Manga by Jason Thompson is filled with information about manga: When it first started to be popular in the U.S., the differences between manga and American comics, different styles, and reviews on all American translated manga up to 2007. This book has plenty of good, concrete information. If you are interested in anime or manga, I recommend this book. Or, If you have never read manga before and wish to find a good one, this book will help lead you in the right direction. Although, I do not recommend the book to younger children for it gives images of manga and some of them are not appropriate for ages under 13.
I really enjoy the way the book is formatted, and the way it is written. It is easy to find the information I am looking for, and it is easy to understand.

  1. I have read many manga reviews, and these reviews tell the age rating, the title, and the plot line. Most of the manga seem pretty interesting, and I look forward to reading more reviews.

  4. I am not sure, however I believe it is written by an America. This book has helped because it gave a few pages of manga history, which is actually hard to find.
