IT by Stephen King

  1. I was just reading about the past life of IT, I'm going to start calling IT 'Pennywise' for that is IT's real name. Anyway it seems Pennywise has been around for a very long time, in fact as S.K puts it "Since the great stupid turtle barfed out the universe". Anyway aside from turtles barfing out planets, it seems Pennywise just thinks of Derry as his sheep pen, where all he hasw to do is sleep, come and have fun while eating children (that is the fun part for him), and go back to sleep. Then the children came along. For the first time Pennywise was actually scared of something.

  2. Hunter,

This sounds like an epic book. Aren't you more than halfway through the book, and you're just now getting to the monster's history? It certainly covers a lot of ground and jumps around a lot. It also sounds like an engaging book. I mean, it's not just some quick, slash-em-up thriller. There's a lot of complicated history to this book. Does the monster have any implications beyond the town of Derry? It's strange to think of this threat being around since the dawn of creation and not making a bigger splash. Are these children the first to realize what's going on, or did other people know about the monster? Does Pennywise eat children in other towns also? Why do people continue to live there?

  3. The children are actually the first to realize that Pennywise is real, and no he does not feed from other towns. Anyway thats, I think three, of the children It has killed. Another weird this is the fact that It is a girl, a spider, and pregnant with millions of baby Its. I am really close to finishing this book, like 20-30 pages. Right now Richie and Bill are chasing after It.

  4. Hunter,

Wasn't IT a clown at one time? What do you mean Pennywise is actually a female spider?
Also, you said that Pennywise has been eating people for a long time. Did the people in Derry not realize that their children were missing? Or did they explain it as something else?
Why doesn't the monster feed on other towns? Why is it in Derry? What keeps it there?

  5. Pennywise is the clown it is a creature. It's really confusing but when It's in clown form It's Pennywise, when in monster form It's It..... As for the missing children the people of Derry start to forget or label it as a freak accident. I have finished reading It and would not recommend it to people who are under 13, into reading one book for a long time, and not insane. Two of the important people died in the end but I won't say who. Sadly the turtle died by throwing up in his shell and choking on some galaxy's. Luckily my favorite person didn't die or else this book would become a pile of ashes. It was quite a good book once you get to the 300th page.

  6. Hunter,

Are you saying that you're insane if you're reading this one book for so long and enjoying it? Why does the book have to be so long? What do you get out of it?

  7. Well I think I learned one new colorful expression. Also from reading old people book I learn new vocabulary words.

  8. Hunter,

What does the reader gain from the book's being so long? Does it have to be that long? What is it like reading one book for such a long time?

  9. I don't know if the readers gain anything of sentimental value. I do know Stephen Kings earns a whole lot of money.

  10. I think there was a lot of things that S.K could have left out of the book seeing as how they have no relation to what was happening. Reading this book wouldn't have taken so long if I had read it at home but I was actually reading different books at home. So it seemed like a long time but it really wasn't.
