  1. Scorpia is the fifth book in the Alex Rider series it’s a good book because it’s all about Alex stopping this crime organization which is trying to kill every kid in London.

  2. Alden,

    Are these books written for kids or teens, or are they written for adults? Do you think they are realistic? Could there be a crime organization trying to kill the kids? It sounds like a gripping plot; do you think Alex will solve it on his own?

  3. These books are written for young adults and teens. I think that they are realistic. There probably is a crime organization trying to kill kids. Alex Rider did end up figuring it out.

  4. How do you not know if there is a crime organization if Alex has already figured it out? Wouldn't the book tell you?

  5. Alden,

    You think they are realistic? So it's likely that a kid could wire-walk across a telephone wire to escape from a burning building? There very well may be an organization out there trying to murder children? How did you find out? Who told you? We covered our tracks so well, we swore nobody would discover us. Um, I mean...Does Alex ever get zits right before a big date? Did he get picked on when he was younger? And do you like him? What makes him likeable?

  7. Alden,

    We were talking about whether or not there might actually be an organization bent on destroying all the children of the world. It reminded me of this story from the Bible. I don't know whether or not this is historically accurate, but it's an example of what we were talking about and why it might happen.
    Matthew 2:13

    Now after they had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, ‘Get up, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.’ 14 Then Joseph got up, took the child and his mother by night, and went to Egypt, 15 and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, ‘Out of Egypt I have called my son.’

    16 When Herod saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, he was infuriated, and he sent and killed all the children in and around Bethlehem who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had learned from the wise men. 17 Then was fulfilled what had been spoken through the prophet Jeremiah:
    18 ‘A voice was heard in Ramah,
    wailing and loud lamentation,
    Rachel weeping for her children;
    she refused to be consoled, because they are no more.’

    19 When Herod died, an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt and said, 20 ‘Get up, take the child and his mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who were seeking the child’s life are dead.’ 21 Then Joseph got up, took the child and his mother, and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was ruling over Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. And after being warned in a dream, he went away to the district of Galilee.
