Fablehaven by Brandon Mull

For centuries mystical creatures were gathered into a hidden refuge called Fablehaven to prevent their extinction. The sanctuary is one of the last strongholds of true magic. Kendra and her brother, Seth, have no idea that their grandfather is the current caretaker of Fablehaven. Inside the gated woods, ancient laws keep order among greedy trolls, mischievous satyrs, plotting witches, spiteful imps, and jealous fairies. However, when the rules get broken, powerful forces of evil are unleashed, and Kendra and her brother must face the greatest challenge of their lives to save her family, Fablehaven, and perhaps even the world.

  1. Kahla, I don't usually like fantasy, but I'm intrigued by the blurb for this book. How do you like it so far? May I borrow it when you're finished with it?

  2. So far I would have to say my favorite character is Kendra because she's responsible and she's just...better...then Seth I guess. I just like Kendra better for some reason.

  3. My favorite part so far in the book is when dragonflies, butterflies and other flying creatures were flipping a mirror over. I just thought that that was kinda cool because I mean really, how many flying bugs play with mirrors now a days?

  4. Have you ever read or seen the Narnia movies? This sounds familiar in the plot line as some of the books. Is there any other similarities you might have noticed while reading this book?

    1. Yes, I've watched them. The book talked about satyrs. They're like goat people in a way, when i think about goat people i think of half horse half human...whatever that's called.
