STAR WARS TAKES FROM THE MOS EISLEY CANTINA Edited by Kevin J. Anderson

In a far corner of the universe, on the small desert planet of Tatooine, there is a dark, nic-i-tain-filled cantina where you can down your favorite intoxicant while listening to the best jazz riffs in the universe.  But beware your fellow denizens of this pangalactic watering hole, for they are cutthroats and cutpurses, assassins and troopers, humans and aliens, gangsters and thieves....

  1. I just started reading this book two days ago. I am on the first of the many short stories and it seems to be entertaining so far. It is the first time I have ever read a book like this that is full of short stories.

  2. I find this book very interesting. Especially because it tells you more or the background of the characters. currently I am learning more than I ever knew about Greedo the bounty hunter.

  3. You say that the book is composed of several short stories, does this make it more or less interesting than the other style of books you usually read?

  4. Hi, Keagan- I'm curious to know if the short stories are all related in any way; sometimes that makes them more interesting to me, and sometimes less so. What do you think?

  5. Yes they are are all related in a way. All of the stories about the people are about the thugs bounty hunters and staff in the Mos Eisley Cantina.

  6. I find it more interesting than most of the books that I read because they are many interesting stories. About different people so it makes me want to read more that I do with the normal books that I read.

  7. Do any of the stories remind you of one you have read before?

  8. That sounds great- I'm glad you're enjoying them. Is there anything about the author's style that you particularly like or dislike?

  10. The book is not made by one author it is comprised of many different stories made by different authors but all of the authors write very disciptively.

  13. Here is a nice descriptive paragraph from the first section of the book that I find interesting about the childhood life of a alien bounty hunter.
"Oona goota, Greedo?" The question, spoken fearfully, was answered by the mocking cries of the luminous bo-toads hidden in the mountain cave in the dripping green jungle. Pqweeduk scratched the insect bite on his tapirlike snout and made a brave hooting noise. he listened as the sound echoed with the wind in the dark hole that had swallowed his older brother.

  14. I like all the sensory imagery here--- there are lots of sounds, aren't there? And "dripping green jungle" doesn't just make me see it; the assonance of the p's and g's/j's sounds cool too. What do you like best about it?
