Slagar the fox hated Redwall Abbey- it's peaceable creatures, it's fearless mouse warrior Matthias. He blamed Matthias for the injuries he'd suffered . . . but his quest for vengeance would have to be a cunning one, for he knew the power of the legendary Redwall sword.
Above all, he knew, the Redwallers cherished their young. So Slagar would steal them from under their very noses- and the greatest prize of all would be Matthias's headstrong son, Mattimeo . . .

So far, this has been a good book. Nothing out of the ordinary for Brain Jacques, but a good book none the less. It's also the first new book I've been able to read in a long time, so that must be affecting my analysis. It's funny most of the time, although sometimes the humor is worn out and lost. It's fast paced, (most of the time), although it does have some slow parts too. The characters are enjoyable, although sometimes I feel that positions of power are badly written. I might recommend this book, depending on the person in question.
