The Poem an Anthology edited by Stanley B. Greenfeild, A. Kingsley Weatherford and Robert T. Garrat

This book is a compilation of several famous poets, not to mention some poets who are not as well recognized. Because of the vast amounts of poets features, there is a wide variety of poems to chose from. Each section of poems is organized by it's corresponding poet- and the poet also has an excerpt of their general life and or accomplishments.

It's wide range of poets also means a wide range of time. This book has poetry from medieval times, the Renaissance, the eighteenth century, Nineteenth Century, to current times. Some of the poets included are William Shakespeare, John Donne, Robery Burns, Lord Byron, Precy Byshee Shelly, John Keats, Robert Frost, and much more.

  1. I have posted about this book several times before. No matter what I end up reading I always pick up this book sooner or later. It's hard not to, it's vast variety of poems are great to enjoy with a cup of tea at the end of the day. Although I have yet to finish reading every poem (some of them are pages long with complex language), I aim to do so in the (hopefully) near future.

  2. Last year we learned about some of the poets that are in this book. It's great to refresh ones knowledge every now and then! One of my favorate poets to read about id Lord Byron. He was the son of an eccentric captain and a Scots heiress. He was also lame since birth. Despite this however he managed fame.

  3. I have attempted to read one of the longer poems in the book. I still have a hard time keeping up with the ones that are more than a page however.
