Keeping the moon
I just started reading this book called "Keeping the Moon" by Sarah Dessen. This author is one of my favorites because she loves to write. She loves to make things more interesting for the reader and elaborates on almost everything. Mrs. Baskette got me a book called "This Lullaby" by sarah dessen and I liked the book so i decided to read another one. So... I decided to read this one!!

Sabrina,
ReplyDeleteCan you include an example of some of the elaborate writing? How does the author include detail that isn't overwhelming? Sometimes elaborating on everything can be boring. Why do you think it's not boring when Dressen does it?

She doesn't give non important information, and only gives the necessities. I dont think that Sarah's writing is boring i think it is good...
ReplyDeleteThe diction is medium in my book! Um... "We do need some extra help, she said to Isabel, who was sitting at the end of the counter after that frantic lunch, arranging he money." Its not like omg, like rotflbo, as its not so scientific that i can't understand what they are talking about so that means it has to be medium.
ReplyDeleteSabrina,
ReplyDeleteGive us more examples of what you love about this author. What types of stories does she write? What are her characters like? How does elaborating on things hook you into the story?
This story is about teenagers lives and I think that it ties all together with whats happening in my life right now. I also think that Sara Dessen tell all the necessities and nothing more. He writing just make everything sounds great and makes my emotion react the way they should. I also think that Sara Dessen is an amazing author for teenagers. I do not like her books that are not for my age group. The books that I have read or plan on reading soon are about teenagers lives in the summer and in the spring.
ReplyDeleteRight now in my book there is going to be a Lunar Eclipse. This guy named Norman just told Colie about is life of when he was a little child about the age of six, and his brothers and him had a camping trip and camped outside their house and watched for the Lunar Eclipse. Then it "ran away" and he stayed awake waiting for it. I think whats going to happen next is that they are going to camp out outside and hang out that night and be friends".
ReplyDeleteSabrina,
ReplyDeleteThank you for explaining. This helps me understand what type of book this is and why you like it so much. Are the books that you don't like for an older audience or younger?
What is going on in these teenagers' lives? Anything dramatic or troublesome? How does it make you feel to read about lives similar to yours? Does it help things make sense?
