Zodiac by:Romina Russell

Rhoma Grace is a 16-year-old student from House Cancer with an unusual way of reading the stars. While her classmates use measurements to make accurate astrological predictions, Rho can’t solve for ‘x’ to save her life—so instead, she looks up at the night sky and makes up stories.

When a violent blast strikes the moons of Cancer, sending its ocean planet off-kilter and killing thousands of citizens—including its beloved Guardian—Rho is more surprised than anyone when she is named the House’s new leader. But, a true Cancrian who loves her home fiercely and will protect her people no matter what, Rho accepts.

Then, when more Houses fall victim to freak weather catastrophes, Rho starts seeing a pattern in the stars. She suspects Ophiuchus—the exiled 13th Guardian of Zodiac legend—has returned to exact his revenge across the Galaxy. Now Rho—along with Hysan Dax, a young envoy from House Libra, and Mathias, her guide and a member of her Royal Guard—must travel through the Zodiac to warn the other Guardians.

But who will believe anything this young novice says? Whom can Rho trust in a universe defined by differences? And how can she convince twelve worlds to unite as one Zodiac?

  1. This book was interesting from the first time I picked it up and the first couple chapters are amazing a lot happening, but very edge of your seat excitement. The whole entire idea of this book is interesting, how there are thirteen zodiac symbols apparently instead of twelve like we are used to. The beginning and prologue is pretty much all back story of the main character and some back flash history in a way of what the people in the story know of the twelve, well thirteen zodiacs. The technology that the author describes in this is somewhat confusing for some things, but I think that later on in the book confusing things now won't be as confusing later on. I usually love action fantasy books, so when I saw it I was pretty much already hooked after reading the inside cover, so I gave this book a try and so far it's exceeding in being a well written fantasy action mumble jumble of interesting exciting genres.

  2. A zodiac symbol is are old Greek tales about the different constellations in the sky that make up your symbol according to the month and day you were born.

  3. So right now in the book they are moving Rho to a special little camp near Cancer because Cancer is having huge tsunamis because of the crash on the moon which killed like thousand people, so everyone right now is either dead, being evacuated, or helping people being evacuated. My favorite character so far is the main character Rho because she is intelligent, and caring which in a way right now is helpful in this situation.

  4. Now in the book Rho has been made new Guardian of Planet Cancer and is running into trouble with Ophiuchus, but I really don't want to keep spelling Ophiuchus so in this blog i'm going to call him Ophi. Ophi is the man or should I say thing behind the name. Rho has only met him once and now she's trying to save the world while he is destroying it. I have to say I wish there was a little more description of her coronation clothing, but what the author put was enough I guess; but i would have loved more description on the dress the hair the make-up somewhat. Everyone that is important or semi important are safe now except for Rho's mother no one knows where she is. Anyways this is my new favorite genre of book, dystopian sort of with some sci-fi, action, fiction-ish maybe could happen way way way into the future.
