Escape from Zobadak by: Brad Gallagher

It could be dangerous in there. Probably not a good place for kids. But the adults aren't listening - and even if they were, they would never believe it.

  1. I really like this book. I think, it's a mystery, not sure though. The book is really exciting, I couldn't put it down for one second. It's kinda funny and scary in some parts. There aren't many slow parts but the few slow parts so far, i can skip because they don't have much. The slow parts are either funny, or not of use. My favorite character is Chris so far, because he has my brothers name, and also he is a comedian...My favorite part is when Chris is wearing plastic armor, a plastic shield, a plastic sword, and a fake cow boy gun.

  3. The entire book draws me in, the more I want to read it. Chris is a kid, but Gallagher made him act and sound like a comedian. The parts I don't like are, sometimes, Gallagher is a little jumpy. First he's talking about a werewolf at the beginning of the book, then he's talking about Billy and Sophie, then he's talking about two people in a truck. I find it a little hard to read, unless you read the book before and are used to the jumpiness. But other than that, Escape from Zobadak is a very good back. I did feel like I was in the book, i guess that is what makes me love it so much.

  4. Kahla, this sounds less stressful than your last mystery novel! Writers always have reasons for what they do; can you think of any reasons Gallagher might jump around like that? Is the story jumpy or chaotic in any way? Might Gallagher want to confuse the reader? If so, why?

  5. Some reasons because he wants to make the reader keep reading so they finish the book. Or Gallagher want the book like that. Other than that the book isn't jumpy. Sometimes that chapter is starting with Billy and Sophie, then the next chapter is taking about the Zobadak Wood Company men. It's really weird. The very first chapter is talking about a werewolf. I'm not understanding how a werewolf ties in.

  6. You speak a lot about Chris, but how do you feel about Billy and Sophie? I'm assuming they are very important to the book since you have mentioned them a couple times. Is it harder for you to connect to Billy and Sophie, or are they just less interesting?

  7. BIlly and Sophie are alright. They are important. The book is based around them. They're just less interesting, i guess. I don't like them, but I don't dislike them.

  8. So does that mean you find the nonhuman characters more interesting?

  9. Kind of. Everyone's human except the werewolf. At this point I don't like the werewolf because I don't know much about the werewolf.

    1. So do you think once you get to know the werewolf you will learn to like him more? Has he done anything to majorly effect the plot line or other characters/events so far?

    2. Yes, I think so. Not really, at the beginning of the book, he changes the first chapter, but when the chapter changes he was never seen again.

    3. Do you think Billy and Sophie will continue being important as well?
