Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling

You have in your hands the pivotal fourth novel in the seven-part tale of Harry Potter's training as a wizard and his coming of age. Harry wants to get away from the pernicious Dursleys and go to the International Quidditch Cup with Hermione, Ron, and the Weasleys. He wants to dream about Cho Chang, his crush (and maybe do more than dream). He wants to find out about the mysterious event that's supposed to take place at Hogwarts this year, an event involving two other rival schools of magic, and a competition that hasn't happened for a hundred years. He wants to be normal, fourteen-year-old wizard. Unfortunately for harry potter he’s not normal even by wizarding standards.

And in case different can be deadly.

Bad Kitty by Nick Bruel

Pet owners beware! Bad Kitty really needs a bath. Unfortunately...
This is one of the funnier books that I have found recently. As I have never done such, I had no idea trying to give a cat a bath would be this bad! Bruel does a nice job of giving you some facts but still keeping it funny.

Military Mavericks by David Roony

What makes a maverick? Is it simply an unorthodox mind, or is it more than that, a flagrant disregard for convention? Is there a place for the maverick in a disciplined military hierarchy and if so, is the military maverick more likely to win, or lose, his battles?

In his absorbing study of heroes who broke the rules, David Rooney shows how it is so often the maverick that turns every challenge to triumph and wins the unwinnable. The contrary chaos of war can be so intimidating that perhaps victory can only belong to the maverick. Here are stories of twelve mavericks, from Alexander the Great and Stonewall Jackson, through Garibaldi and Lawrence of Arabia to the Second World War and more. It is a great book for information on these people.

Welfare Brat by Mary Childers

I am about half way through this book and it is keeping me very interested. It drags a bit but no matter how boring the story can get it continues keep me wondering whats going to be the next event in their life. The thing I love about this book is that it's very real in an average persons life. It's not over exaggerated or unreal. I also love that it's not just in one point of view. They tell about how everyone in the family sees each other.

The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima

An epic battle between good and evil...

Before he knew about the Roses, sixteen year old Jack lived an unremarkable life in the small Ohio town of Trinity. Only the medicine he has to take daily and the thick scar above his heart set him apart from the other high schoolers. Then one day Jack skips his medicine. Suddenly, he is stronger, fiercer, and more confident than ever before. And it feels great- until he loses control of his own strength and nearly kills another player during soccer team tryouts.

Soon, Jack learns the startling truth about himself: he is a Weirlind, part of an underground society of magical people who live among us. At their helm sits the feuding houses of the Red Rose and the White Rose, whose power is determined by playing the Game- a magical tournament in which each house sponsors a warrior to fight to the death. The winning house rules the Weir.

As if his bizarre heritage isn't enough, Jack finds out that he's not just another member of Weirlind- he's one of the last of the warriors- at a time when both houses are scouting for a player.
