The Fellowship Of The Ring by J.R.R Tolkien
The dark, fearsome Ringwraiths are searching for a Hobbit. Frodo Baggins knows that they are seeking him and the Ring he bears—the Ring of Power that will enable evil Sauron to destroy all that is good in Middle-earth. Now it is up to Frodo and his faithful servant, Sam, with a small band of companions, to carry the Ring to the one place it can be destroyed: Mount Doom, in the very center of Sauron’s realm.
This is the second time I have tried to read this. I put it down about a year and half ago, and am very pleased with the book so far. Tolkien is very descriptive, which I like, and he has great great characters. I am excited to read the rest of the books as well.
ReplyDeleteI have heard most people say that The lord of the rings are a very hard series to read. Is it similar to the way he wrote The Hobbit as well?
ReplyDeleteHi, Gordon--
ReplyDeleteI had trouble reading The Hobbit, and never got past it; I've heard that this and the two books after it are different and better. Have you read The Hobbit? Do you agree?
I have read the Hobbit, I found it quite amazing. Especially the character development and imagery, it was great! The next books are different, but they contain allot of the same style. I wouldn't say that these are better, they are allot slower and in depth sometimes but that is your choice.
